Our Global Peer Financing Association (GPFA) Chairperson, Robert Goobie CPA CMA, had the pleasure to join the CEOs of International Securities Lending Association (ISLA), ISDA, ICMA - International Capital Market Association, and AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association yesterday in Geneva for a wide ranging discussion of the global financing markets and how the members of these Associations interact to support trading and liquidity across the global capital markets. Thank you to Andrew Dyson and the team from International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) for including GPFA. Ina Budh-Raja, Chair of the ISLA Board superbly moderated this important discussion. It was great to get to know Scott O'Malia, Jack Inglis, and Bryan Pascoe and learn more about your respective markets and Association priorities. Thank you for such an engaging conversation. GPFA has once again partnered with the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) to run a dedicated beneficial owner meeting during the conference. This Beneficial Owner session will take place on Tuesday, 18 June from 9AM-12PM and is for registered beneficial owners attending the conference. This half day session will be led by GPFA members Alexander Scott Baker from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and Morten Gevoll from Norges Bank Investment Management and will focus on the specific challenges and opportunities facing beneficial owners in today’s market. Key discussion topics include T+1 settlement, Basel endgame, cybersecurity threats, routes to market and digitalization in the investment industry. We look forward to connecting with you then!

We are better together. When global beneficial owners learn from one another and discuss best practices, the entire market grows and evolves. And when beneficial owners engage directly with bank participants, we move forward even further. Partnering with the Canadian Securities Lending Association today to educate the market on what the Global Peer Financing Association (GPFA) is, and how its members approach the securities finance markets, was well received by CASLA attendees. Canada coming in strong! 🇨🇦 40% of our Global Peer Financing Association (GPFA) members are Canadian beneficial owners and yesterday we gathered with an amazing group of these members in Toronto to learn, share, and discuss the global securities financing market. Thank you to Ontario Teachers'​ Pension Plan for hosting our meeting and a massive thank you to Ivoneke Taylor and Kowshika Thiruparanathan, CFA from Ontario Teachers'​ Pension Plan, Jennifer Lin from HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan), and Sally Kan MBA, CFA from OMERS for planning an excellent member meeting.
